music education
katwoman asked:

My eighth grade son needs a new quality trumpet. He takes it very seriously, and is second chair in district band, so his teacher agrees it is time to move up. He has the one he has been playing since sixth grade, but it is worn out. The one he needs to go into high school is way out of our price range, even with financing.
Does anyone know a charity that I can contact in regards to kid’s music education? We live in north GA.

One Response to “Does anyone know charities to do with music education?”

Here are some music education foundations/charities:
I’m not sure if they do this kind of thing, but maybe you could e-mail them your story and they would be willing to help. I would include in the story why exactly you can’t afford the financing, did you or spouse loose your job recently, are you a single parent raising several children, are you struggling to make ends meet because of cut hours…. etc.
I would also talk to the school music director if you haven’t done so yet. I’m sure they might be able to work something out with you or know some one you can go to for help. You could also talk to the music store. Or if you haven’t already, looked at other music stores for a better deal.
    Good luck!
